In short the universe had a different opinion about what was best for our small company and fighting the will of the universe is not only foolish but energy wasted. We could of course say what others had said it was the market, it was the collapse of the sub-prime market bluh bluh bluh…play the blame game but what and who do you blame when outside factors cause things to not go as planned and does that change your reality? No of course not. Learn from the past living in it is idiotic. We failed to plan it is that simple.

Because of this experience I have learned it is important to embrace not merely your passion, this is a very over used word these days, but to understand your strengths and weaknesses. As Timothy Ferriss wrote in his extremely fun and easy to read book “The 4-Hour Workweek” (Yes that was a shameless plug I loved this book)
Emphasize Strengths. Don’t Fix Weakness.

Over the last few years the world of real estate had changed and Fifth Corner Group had to change with it or die. There was no other option. Each of us had to look at what we were good at “our strengths” (As real estate investors) and apply that to our new business model. Has it been easy (no) not even a little but by taking our strengths and knowledge in what we learned as investors and utilizing that to help others to not only understand real estate but to thrive from properly utilizing it we have found our purpose.

That has also meant going into servicing mode and embracing the newer techno stuff that is out there. I know I know blogs are not new anymore but trust me when I say they are new to me. So the purpose of this blog (and yes it will be hit and miss from time to time) is to give you insight into the world of The Fifth Corner. We will share our “war” stories and opinion on topics related (directly or indirectly) to wealth building using real estate as an investment vehicle. It is not all kittens and sunshine there can and will be struggle but the accumulation of wealth, wealth to sustain your dreams and aspirations, is mandatory for it is the only thing that will allow you to live a fully lived life.
